Filipino-American singer and Grammy winner Olivia Rodrigo has announced plans to revisit the Philippines next year, aiming to experience the country beyond Manila by exploring its islands and pristine beaches.

In a recent interview, Rodrigo reflected on her 2024 trip to the Philippines, describing it as a deeply significant journey both personally and creatively. She shared, "That trip was so special. From a creative standpoint, it was amazing to perform in this city."

Beyond the artistic milestone of her sold-out concert at the Philippine Arena, Rodrigo highlighted the charitable aspect of her visit; she donated all proceeds to a healthcare organization dedicated to women and girls in the Philippines.

Initially, the young artist expressed concerns about being accepted by Filipinos, given that she was not born in the country and has limited proficiency in Tagalog. "I worried whether they would see me as their kababayan and a source of pride. Being warmly embraced by the community meant the world to me," she said.

Rodrigo affectionately declared her love for the Philippines and eagerly anticipates her return. "I’m so grateful for the warm welcome and can’t wait to come back."

Looking ahead to 2026, she plans to visit the nation’s islands, enjoy swimming in the ocean, and explore its famed beaches. "Next year, I really want to see beyond Manila and experience the natural beauty of the islands. That’s on my agenda," she confirmed.

Aside from travel plans, Olivia Rodrigo is currently focused on creating new music. "I’m having a lot of fun working on new songs and sounds. Being home from touring allows me to really engage with the creative process," she noted.

When reflecting on how this new phase compares to her earlier albums "Sour" and "Guts," Rodrigo explained that maturity and experience have influenced her artistry. "I feel different now. The tour and festivals taught me a lot about who I am and what kind of music I want to create and perform. I’m bringing those lessons into the studio."

Her 2024 visit marked her first time in the Philippines, where she proudly embraced her Filipino heritage by engaging with fans, donning symbolic attire, and celebrating "Pinoy Pride" during her performances. Rodrigo also shared fond memories of experiencing local traditions, such as a boodle fight and touring the historic Intramuros with her boyfriend, British actor Louis Partridge.

Her connection with Filipino fans remains strong, with Rodrigo expressing admiration for their singing talents and cultural warmth throughout her stay.
