Pinoy Big Brother Celebrities Share New Year Resolutions Focused on Growth and Strength

As 2026 dawned, the housemates of "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition" embraced the New Year during the event "KISLAP: The Sparkling Magical New Year Ball" by sharing their resolutions through selected words that capture their aspirations for the coming year.

Miguel Vergara chose the word "paglipad" (to soar), reflecting on his lifelong support system. He stated, "Pinili ko ito dahil buong buhay ko, there were always wings that supported me," acknowledging those who inspire him. Recognizing the need for independence, Miguel added, "to spread my own wings, to soar higher gamit ang mga sarili kong pakpak. Mahirap pero kailangan."

He expressed that his time in Bahay ni Kuya fostered unexpected personal growth, making him "a better Miguel," and emphasized the courage gained to "fly," whether alone or with others.

In the Confession Room, he reflected, "My mom and dad will always be my right and left wing. Pero Kuya, sabi nila mommy and ni daddy na you have to learn how to fly on your own. And I think ‘yun ‘yung biggest lesson na natutunan ko po sa bahay niyo Kuya, is to fly on my own." Miguel also hopes to savor his journey and accomplishments moving forward.

Carmelle Collado, Miguel’s partner, selected "pagkilala" (recognition). She shared her initial fear of revealing her struggles but explained, "Takot na takot ako, ngunit sa tulong ng mga taong malapit sa akin, ipinaliwanag nila sa akin na walang masama at hindi mali na ikwento at malaman ng tao kung ano ang kwento ng buhay mo, lalo na kung alam mo sa sarili mo na may mabuti kang puso." Carmelle aspires to inspire others by sharing her experiences both inside and outside the house.

Heath Jornales chose "pagkamatibay" (strength), expressing his desire to become stronger in 2026. He acknowledged, "Everybody wants to be strong, but not everyone can do what it takes to be strong. For me, being strong is to still keep fighting even when you’re at your lowest." Inspired by his father’s unwavering support, Heath aims to embody similar resilience.

His date, Caprice Cayetano, picked "paglago" (growth). She conveyed, "Para sa paparating na bagong taon, nais kong matuto at lumago, at gamitin bilang gabay ang aking mga pinagdaanan pati na rin ang natutunan mga magulang nung sila ay kasing edad ko." Looking ahead to her adulthood, Caprice hopes to become strong, patient, loving, and diligent while setting an example for younger generations.

John Clifford emphasized "pananagutan" (accountability) as his guiding principle. Reflecting on past mistakes, he admitted, "Ang daming beses kung saan hindi ko tanggap na nagkamali ako at hindi ko tanggap na mali ‘yung mga ginagawa ko." Acknowledging his imperfections and tendency to avoid problems as a teen, he shared, "Ito ang dahilan kung bakit hindi ko nasisimulan ang pagbabago ko kasi hindi ko magawa ang pinaka unang hakbang, which is accountability." He believes accepting mistakes is vital to personal growth.

Finally, Sofia Pablo chose "katotohanan" (truth), committing herself to live honestly and fearlessly since entering Bahay ni Kuya.

"Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0" premiered on October 25 and features 20 Generation Z celebrities from Sparkle and Star Magic. It airs weeknights at 9:40 PM, Saturdays at 6:15 PM, and Sundays at 10:05 PM on GMA Network.
