Guimaras Manggahan Festival and Congressman JC Rahman Nava Recognized at 38th Aliw Awards

The Guimaras Manggahan Festival earned a distinguished spot as a finalist in the 38th Aliw Awards 2025, competing under the Best Festival Practices and Performances category. This recognition positions it among the Philippines’ premier cultural events.
Congressman JC Rahman A. Nava, formerly Governor of Guimaras, was concurrently nominated for Best Festival Catalyst/Organizer, acknowledging his pivotal role in advancing the festival to national prominence.
Governor Ma. Lucille L. Nava, present at the occasion, stated, "This accolade highlights the Manggahan Festival’s unwavering commitment to cultural excellence and reinforces Guimaras’ identity as a vibrant hub that proudly celebrates the creativity and spirit of its people."
The awards ceremony took place on Monday, December 15, at the Fiesta Pavilion of The Manila Hotel. The event gathered prominent figures from the entertainment industry and various artistic disciplines to honor outstanding Filipino talent and cultural achievements.
Also in attendance were Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member and Committee on Tourism Chair Atty. Paul Vincent G. De La Cruz, alongside Provincial Tourism Officer Francisco E. Gentoral, both representing Guimaras.
Since its inception in 1976, the Aliw Awards Foundation, Inc. has been instrumental in recognizing excellence in Filipino performance arts and production. The foundation also supports the industry’s growth through educational workshops and seminars. This year’s ceremony encompassed over 50 award categories, celebrating the diversity and richness of Philippine entertainment.
