Davao City Police Intensify Traffic Law Enforcement to Ensure Road Safety
Benilda Vergara
The Davao City Police have issued a warning to the public to adhere strictly to traffic laws to avoid penalties. Authorities urged drivers to carry valid permits and licenses, and to use essential protective gear such as helmets and seat belts.
On the morning of September 16, 2025, the Davao City Police Office–Traffic Enforcement Unit (DCPO-TEU) conducted the "Oplan Kalsada Road Clearing Operation" in Davao City. This initiative aims to enforce traffic regulations and reduce road accidents.
According to the DCPO report, the operation resulted in the apprehension of 25 traffic violators for offenses including breaches of the Republic Act 10054 (Helmet Law), Republic Act 4136, and Local City Ordinances 0334-12. All violators were issued citation tickets as part of the legal compliance process.
These citations were immediately forwarded to the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) for appropriate action and penalties.
The police emphasized their commitment to maintaining traffic order and safety through regular enforcement activities across various areas of the city. A key focus of the operation is also to eliminate the use of noisy and disruptive "bora-bora" exhausts, with authorities pledging to confiscate and penalize offenders.
In closing remarks, DCPO-TEU reminded the public that traffic laws exist to protect the lives and safety of everyone on the road, highlighting the need for community cooperation to achieve this goal.
