Confusion Surrounds Appointment of Laguna Provincial Administrator

A social media platform has cast doubt on the true identity of the current provincial administrator of Laguna. The Facebook page "Bulungan sa Laguna" highlighted a video wherein Laguna Governor Sol Aragones identifies former Candaba Mayor Jerry Pelayo as the province’s administrator. However, the post pointed out that the provincial administrator is required to be a Laguna resident, hold the necessary qualifications including a college degree, demonstrate good moral character, and have no pending legal cases.

Adding to the confusion, the Facebook page shared a letter purportedly from Governor Aragones requesting the confirmation of lawyer Nathalie Velasquez as the provincial administrator, with an effective date of August 8, 2025. This discrepancy has raised concerns and demands for clarity regarding the official appointment.

The page emphasized the need for transparency, stating, "This is confusing and the truth should be made known." Further official clarification is anticipated to resolve the matter and confirm the legitimate officeholder.
